Nodular fat necrosis

Nodular fat necrosis is also known as pancreatitis subcutaneous fat necrosis. Chiai describes fatty necrotic inflammation with pancreatic disease. In addition to subcutaneous fat necrosis and small joint synovitis, it can also cause pancreas and its surrounding Omentum and mesenteric fat necrosis. Skin damage is manifested as repetitive, batches of tender subcutaneous nodules or erythema.
