Skin diseases caused by cobalt and its compounds

Cobalt is a relatively rare element and can be used to make alloys. Cobalt and its compounds can be used as catalysts for some chemical synthesis. It is also used in the manufacture of paints, pigments, glass, enamels, and electrode plates. Common cobalt compounds include cobalt oxide (CoO), high cobalt oxide (Co2O3), cobalt sulfate (CoSO4), and cobalt chloride (CoCl2 · 6H2O). Trivalent cobalt salts are generally unstable and do not exist under normal conditions.
