Non-gonococcal bacterial arthritis

Non-gonococcal bacterial arthritis is a serious disease with a mortality rate of 5% to 10%. 25% to 40% of patients have joint damage and dysfunction. The prognosis is related to many factors, including the long-term nature of the infection, the characteristics of the bacteria, the affected joints, the host's ability to resist, and the application of some therapeutic principles. However, according to statistics from the Montana State Biomedical Center in the United States, even with timely and effective treatment, non-gonococcal septic arthritis still has higher complications, disability and mortality than gonococcal arthritis.
