Congenital nasopharyngeal stricture and atresia

It is generally believed that incomplete rupture of the cheek-pharyngeal membrane causes congenital nasopharyngeal stenosis. If the cheek-pharyngeal membrane does not rupture, congenital nasopharyngeal atresia is caused.
