Pharyngeal vascular malformation

Congenital pharyngeal vascular malformations are embryonic abnormalities. Under normal development conditions, there is a bend between the two components of the original internal carotid artery, the 3rd arch and the dorsal active arch. When the heart position is lowered, this bend is straightened and no longer exists. If it persists without being straightened, it will form an arterial ring or arterial flexion on the deep side of the pharyngeal wall or the posterior pharyngeal wall, close to the tonsil fossa and the posterior pharyngeal wall. It is easy to cause damage when the tonsil or pharyngeal tonsil is removed.
