Repeated small bowel malformations
Duplication of small intestine refers to a round or tubular cavity organ appearing on the mesentery side of the small intestine. It has the same tissue structure as the adjacent small intestine and its blood supply is also very close. Repeated small bowel malformations can occur anywhere in the small intestine, but the ileum is most common.
