Neuroblastoma

Neuroblastoma was once called neuroblastoma and originated from primitive neural crest cells. Neuroblastoma is a neuroendocrine tumor that can occur anywhere in the sympathetic nerve chain. The most common site is adrenal medulla, which accounts for about 50%, followed by the abdominal sympathetic ganglia. Sympathetic chromaffin cells in the neck, chest, and pelvis also occur. Among children, it is the third most common malignant tumor, behind leukemia and brain tumors. About 50% of this tumor occurs in children before the age of two, and about two-thirds of children are diagnosed before the age of five. With the improvement of B-ultrasound diagnosis technology, diagnosis can be obtained even before delivery. Occasionally occurs in adults.
