Residual bladder volume

Residual urine volume measurement is an important method to reflect the degree of urinary tract obstruction and bladder detrusor function, and it is also one of the important basis for determining the treatment method. Residual urine volume measurement is performed immediately after urination or B-mode ultrasound to determine residual urine volume in the bladder. Normally it is less than 5 ml. The presence of residual urine indicates that the urinary function of the bladder has been decompensated. Residual urine volume is directly proportional to the degree of lower urinary tract obstruction. In the treatment of lower urinary tract obstruction, repeated measurement of residual urine volume can determine the efficacy. Through this examination, the corresponding symptoms can be judged.
