Serum hepatitis B e antibody

Hepatitis B E antibody, English abbreviation HBeAb. Hepatitis B e-antibody is the corresponding antibody produced by the body's stimulation by HBeAg. It is also not protective like anti-HBc. In the past, anti-HBe positive was considered to indicate the absence of HBV in the body, no infectivity, and a sign of good prognosis. However, the current research shows that some patients are positive for anti-HBe, and HBeAg has never appeared in the serum, because there is a mutation in the HBV gene, and HBeAg cannot be secreted. In this case, although there is no HBeAg in the serum, the virus is still replicating. Exacerbations may occur.
