Neisseria gonorrhoeae immunological detection

The immunological detection of N. gonorrhoeae is fluorescently labeled with a monoclonal antibody against the outer membrane protein Por I, the main antigenic site of N. gonorrhoeae. The isolated strain was used as a smear for direct fluorescent staining, and apple green diplococcus was visible under a fluorescent microscope. Outer membrane protein monoclonal antibodies can also be used for agglutination pattern or immunodiafiltration to identify N. gonorrhoeae.
