Antidiuretic hormone

Antidiuretic, also called vasopressin, is a cyclic peptide hormone secreted by the supraoptic nucleus of the hypothalamus. Its physiological function is to enhance the reabsorption of water in the distal tubules and collecting ducts of the kidney, to play an anti-diuretic effect, and to maintain normal colloid osmotic pressure in plasma, so it has a great impact on the concentration of kidneys. Changes in blood volume and blood pressure can affect antidiuretic secretion.
