Serum immunoglobulin G

Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is synthesized in the spleen and lymph nodes. It is the highest in human serum (75% of Ig), and has a long half-life in serum. It is mainly distributed in serum and interstitial fluid. The main components of antitoxins and antiviral antibodies are also an important material basis for the body's anti-infection immunity. Because IgG content is the highest, it is the most important material basis for human immune response, and it is also the only immunoglobulin that can pass through the placental barrier, which plays an important role in newborn infants and anti-infection in mammals. So usually people talk about immunoglobulins for IgG.
