Serum high-density lipoprotein 2-cholesterol
Two-step precipitation method can measure HDL2 and HDL3. The first step is to determine HDL-C; the second step is to precipitate HDL2 with more lipids. The HDL2-C can be calculated from the total HDL-C by measuring the HDL3-C in the supernatant. For two-step precipitation, it is best to use the same reagent at two concentrations as the precipitant.
