Α2-macroglobulin

α2-MG is the largest molecular weight protein in plasma and is synthesized by liver cells and monocyte-macrophage system. The half-life is about 5 days and has the effect of an enzyme inhibitor. Can regulate extracellular proteolysis and stimulate lymphocyte and granulocyte development. Determination of α2-macroglobulin in blood has certain significance for the diagnosis of liver and kidney diseases.
