Serum factor B

Factor B is a precursor of C3 activator and is an important factor in the alternative pathway of complement activation. It is mainly synthesized by the liver and macrophages. It is an important component involved in the activation of complement bypass, participates in body defense, and plays an important role in tissue and cell damage and inflammation.
