5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid
About 2/3 of 5-HT is excreted after the liver is combined with sulfuric acid or glucuronic acid, or the indole is broken to break down; about 1/3 of the scenery is excreted from the urine after monoamine oxidase is oxidized and deaminated to form 5-HIAA. 5-HIAA is the final product of 5-hydroxytryptophan metabolism and has no biological activity.
