Pigmented skin lesions

Changes in skin color caused by reduced or increased pigment are called pigmented skin disorders. Diseases with reduced pigmentation are caused by a lack of melanin, and the whole or local skin becomes white, such as vitiligo; melanin diseases, such as freckles or pigmented moles, caused by increased pigmentation or increased mole cells.
