The citric acid in seminal plasma comes from the prostate. The highest content of seminal plasma is its role in complexing and calcium ions. By combining with calcium ions, it adjusts the concentration of calcium ions in seminal plasma and affects the coagulation and liquefaction of semen after ejaculation.
