Cerebrospinal fluid atrial natriuretic peptide

ANP is not only distributed in some peripheral tissues and organs such as the heart, pituitary, lung, and adrenal glands, but also widely distributed in the central nervous system and some peripheral ganglion cells. Atrial natriuretic peptides in the central nervous system are self-synthesized and do not come from the blood. Brain central natriuretic peptides exist in three forms, α, β, and γ, among which are mainly small molecules of α-ANP. The physiological function is similar to that of the periphery, it has the effects of diuretic natriuresis, inhibition of antidiuretic hormone and angiotensin, and can regulate the release of pituitary hormones and catecholamine metabolism.
