Erythrocyte phosphofructokinase
Red blood cell enzymes play an important role in regulating red blood cell metabolism. TPI is an isomerase in the lysosome of the cell. Deficiency of the enzyme leads to reduced energy supply and shortened red blood cell life to cause hemolytic anemia.
