Anti-cardiomyocyte membrane antibody

Myocardial cell membranes can cause patients with viral myocarditis and dilated cardiomyopathy to generate immune responses and produce specific antibodies. Viral infection may lead myocardial cell membranes to become autoantigens. Antimyolemmal antibodies (AMLA) have the function of lysing cardiomyocytes. Electron microscopy and cardiomyocyte immuno-optic microscopy have shown that AMLA is bound to the surface of cardiomyocyte membranes. It cannot cross-react with liver cells, and only acts on the cardiomyocytes. And lysis of cardiomyocytes only occurs in the presence of complement.
