Pre-anti-S2 protein in serum: The pre-S2 antigen in the serum of patients with acute hepatitis B induces the pre-S2 antibody (Anti-PreS2) before the virus is eliminated, but there is no such special conversion in the process of chronicity, suggesting that this antibody may indicate HBV Recovery of infection, like anti-HBe, is a marker of reduced viral replication.
