The types of IUDs are constantly updated. The goal is to find safe and reliable new methods with better contraceptive effects and lower side effects. The types of IUDs that are practical in China today are as follows. There are currently dozens of different types and beginnings of IUDs in use around the world, and new IUDs are being continuously developed. Despite their different shapes, they can be roughly divided into two categories. 1. Inert IUDs are made of inert raw materials, such as metal, plastic, silicone, nylon, etc. The pregnancy rate and out-of-loop rate of the device are high, and production was stopped in 1993. 2. Active intrauterine contraceptive devices The second-generation contraceptive devices currently widely used at home and abroad contain active substances, such as metals, hormones, drugs and magnetic substances. Domestic products include copper IUD and progesterone-containing IUD.
