Open reduction and internal fixation for ulna olecranon fracture

The treatment of ulna olecranon fractures has two purposes; first, the anatomical reduction of the articular surface of the semilunar notch, and strong internal fixation for early exercise to restore function; second, to restore the normal elbow extension of the triceps brachii . The triceps brachii is attached to the olecranon. The displacement of the olecranon's fracture will definitely cause the fracture of the triceps tendon at the fracture site and the expansion of the triceps brachii on both sides. If it is not repaired, it will affect the extension of the triceps brachii. Elbow strength. The more pronounced the fracture displacement, the more severe the effect. To achieve the above purpose, only open reduction and internal fixation is performed. Therefore, in addition to non-displaced olecranon fractures, plaster casts can be used to fix it in the extended position, and dislocated olecranon fractures should be treated with open reduction internal fixation. If the olecranon fracture of the articular surface is not involved, the small bone mass should be removed to repair the triceps brachii.
