Hypocitrate

Definition of low citrate urine When the urinary citrate excretion is less than 320 mg in 24 hours, it is called low citrate urine. Because microorganisms can decompose urinary citrate, the urine sample to be tested cannot be kept for a long time, so as not to lower the measurement result. The role of hypocitrate in the formation of calcium-containing kidney stones has gradually been recognized. The incidence of hypocitrate in patients with urolithiasis is 19% to 63%.
