Core antibody (anti-HBc) positive

After human infection with hepatitis B virus, hepatitis B virus nucleic acid (HBV-DNA) first appeared in the serum, about 1 month later, hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg) and e antigen (H BeAg) appeared, and anti- HBc and so on. With the gradual improvement of the disease, HBV-DNA, HBsAg and HBeAg in the serum became negative one after another, and after a period of time after the disappearance of HBsAg, hepatitis B surface antibodies (anti-HBs) appeared. Anti-HBc and anti-HBs can be positive at the same time. Because anti-HBs persist in serum for a shorter period of time than anti-HBc, after a period of time, anti-HBs disappears and only a single anti-HBc is positive. Regardless of the clinical symptoms of hepatitis B patients or those with no clinical manifestations of recessive infections, serological tests can show a single anti-HBc positive after recovery.
