Hypoparathyroidism

Hypoparathyroidism (endocrine) is caused by inadequate synthesis or secretion of parathyroid hormone (PTH), or inactive PTH in the blood circulation, or insensitivity to any of the PTH effects such as the insensitivity of PTH target organs. The clinical manifestations are characterized by tetany, hypocalcemia, hyperphosphatemia, and decreased blood PTH levels.
