Itchy skin

Most people have itchy skin, some of which are temporary, occasional, and localized itching; some are chronic, repetitive, and generalized itching of the skin. The former, such as mosquito bites, local infections of bacteria or fungi on the skin, can be cured in a short time by just applying some symptomatic drugs. The latter must not be taken lightly, because clinically many intractable, systemic itching of the skin is often a manifestation of skin lesions on the body. Skin pruritus refers to a kind of neurological dysfunction disease with no primary damage clinically, but mainly pruritus. Skin pruritus is more common in the elderly and middle-aged people, and it is more common in winter and summer. The range of itchy skin is uncertain, it can be limited to one or two places or it can occur extensively, or itching of the whole body skin. The degree of itching is variable, often intermittent or continuous. Skin pruritus belongs to the category of wind pruritus in Chinese medicine.
