Reduced prostaglandin synthesis
Inflammation of the prostate causes a decrease in prostaglandin (PGF2a) secretion in the prostate fluid, which is a decrease in prostaglandin synthesis. Drugs and diabetes can also lead to reduced prostaglandin synthesis.
