Decidual response

Endometrial interstitial fibroblasts have the potential to proliferate and redifferentiate. After the endometrium is fully coordinated by ovarian hormones, decidua-like changes can occur once the endometrium is stimulated by decidua. The process of decidualization is accompanied by a series of adaptive changes in the endometrial cavity epithelial cells, mesenchymal cells, cell composition, extracellular matrix and vascular structure.
