Sore body after exercise

Whole body soreness refers to people who do not exercise often. After participating in more vigorous exercise, local muscles sometimes have soreness. When a person performs strenuous exercise, the decomposition of muscle glycogen accelerates and the oxygen consumption increases, leaving the muscle temporarily in a relatively hypoxic state. At this time, muscle glycogen can be converted into lactic acid and accumulated in muscle by pyruvate. A large amount of lactic acid accumulates in the muscles, which stimulates the chemoreceptors in the muscles to generate excitement. The excitement is transmitted to the cerebral cortex, which makes people feel sore. At the same time, due to the accumulation of lactic acid and other substances, the osmotic pressure in the muscle is increased, which promotes the absorption of more water in the muscle tissue to produce local swelling, and it also produces a feeling of soreness.
