Rabies

Rabies (rabies) is an acute infectious disease caused by rabies virus. Because of its prominent water-phobic symptoms, it is also known as hydrophobia. Zoonotic diseases are common in carnivorous animals such as dogs, wolves, and cats. People are infected by bites from sick animals. Clinical manifestations include fear of water and wind, pharyngeal muscle spasm, and progressive paralysis.
