Distal radius fracture

Colles fracture refers to a cancellous bone fracture at the lower end of the radius. Fractures occur at the cancellous site within 2 to 3 cm of the lower end of the radius. It is one of the most common fractures in the human body, accounting for 10% of all fractures, and the elderly and adults are the majority. Fractures are mostly comminuted, and articular surfaces can be destroyed. The same violence in young people can cause epiphyseal separation of the lower radius.
