Popliteal cyst

Popliteal cysts are more common in middle-aged patients and have the highest incidence. Men are more than women, which results in limited mechanical knee extension and flexion, less pain, and obvious tension and swelling. The main complaints of patients are often characterized by gradual swelling of the popliteal area with pain behind the knee. Occasionally, cysts can oppress venous return and cause leg edema. When the cyst grows to a certain extent, the flexion and extension of the knee joint is limited.
