Single ventricle

The single ventricle or common ventricle or univentricular heart is a rare congenital malformation. Its incidence in live babies is about 1: 6500, accounting for about 1.5% of congenital heart disease. The ventricle receives blood from both the tricuspid and mitral valves or the common atrioventricular valve.
