Precocious puberty in children

Precocious puberty (female precocious puberty), that is, pubertal development is significantly advanced, female precocious puberty accounts for about 0.2 ‰ of all women. Since the start time of puberty development in each normal child varies widely, it is difficult to determine the absolute limits of the normal and precocious time when puberty development begins. It is generally believed that girls have any one or more secondary sexual characteristics such as enlarged breasts, pubic hair growth, and axillary hair growth before the age of eight, or menarche before the age of 10, which is precocious female. Precocious puberty occurs if the child develops earlier than the average age of a local child by 2 or 2.5 standard deviations.
