Demodex

Demodex is a chronic inflammation caused by Demodex in human hair follicles or sebaceous glands, also known as follicle dermatitis. It often occurs in adults over 30 years of age, and children are rare. The percentage of adults varies, ranging from 10% to 27%. But its existence is often not obvious, except in very large cases. Demodex mites are slender and worm-like, about 0.9mm long, parasitizing the sebaceous glands of the nose, followed by the forehead, jaw, and scalp. It can swell the parasited hair follicles and increase the secretion of sebaceous glands. Its life cycle lasts 14 days, 60 hours for eggs, 36 hours for larvae, 132 hours for several pupal segments, and 120 hours for adult stages.
