Congenital liver fibrosis

Congenital liver fibrosis is a rare hereditary congenital malformation characterized by connective tissue hyperplasia and small bile duct hyperplasia in the portal area, and generally causes portal hypertension in the later stages of the disease. 50% of patients can die from major gastrointestinal bleeding . Kerr et al. (1961) first named the disease as congenital liver fibrosis.
