Inflammatory pseudotumor of the liver

Inflammatory pseudotumor of the liver is a benign proliferative lesion whose main pathological feature is inflammatory proliferation of local non-hepatic parenchymal cellular components to form tumor-like nodules. The etiology and mechanism of the disease are unknown and rare. Since the first report of Pack in 1953, and review of the literature such as Schmid in 1996, 53 cases have been reported worldwide. It was first reported by Feng Yuquan and others in 1991, and nearly 50 cases are currently reported. From Shanghai Oriental Hepatobiliary Surgery Hospital from 1993 to September 1997, a total of 25 cases of liver inflammatory pseudotumor were surgically removed. At the current level of imaging diagnosis, IPT is still difficult to distinguish from liver malignancies, and almost all of these tumors are surgically resected. Therefore, it is necessary to study and improve the diagnostic level of IPT.
