Cowpox

Vaccinia (vaccinia) is an acute infection of bovine nipples and breasts caused by bovine variola virus. It is transmitted to humans through contact. It is more common in milkers and slaughterhouse workers. According to the WHO report, the disease has now disappeared worldwide. Vaccinia virus is a virus that causes mild vaccinia lesions in cattle. If a person is infected with the virus, it will only cause minor discomfort and develop resistance to vaccinia virus. Because vaccinia virus has the same antigenic properties as the smallpox virus that causes human variola virus, humans can also obtain immunity against variola virus at the same time after vaccinia vaccination.
