Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura in children

Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is an autoimmune disease that is caused by the production of anti-platelet antibodies in the body and causes the reticular endothelial system to engulf and destroy platelets, resulting in thrombocytopenia. It is a common bleeding disease in children. It is clinically divided into acute and chronic subtypes. Its basic characteristics are spontaneous bleeding of the skin and mucous membranes, thrombocytopenia, prolonged bleeding time, poor blood clot contraction, and increased vascular fragility. Bone marrow smears show normal or increased megakaryocytes. And there are barriers to differentiation. Also known as autoimmune thrombocytopenic purpura.
