Scarlet fever

Scarlet fever is an acute eruptive respiratory tract infectious disease caused by a group A hemolytic streptococcus. It is called "rotten throat throat" by Chinese medicine, and it mainly occurs in winter and spring. Sickness can occur at any age, but babies 2 to 8 years are most vulnerable to infection. Clinically, it is characterized by fever, angina, systemic diffuse scarlet rash, and retrogressive skin desquamation. A small number of people may develop allergic heart and kidney complications after illness.
