Acute epidural hematoma

An epidural hematoma is a hematoma located between the skull's inner plate and the dura mater. It is common in the supra-curve convex surface. Most are single, multiple are rare, but can be combined with other types of hematoma, constituting a compound type of hematoma, of which epidural hematoma combined with subdural hematoma at the impact site is more common, and intracerebral hematoma is rare. Epidural hematoma can be seen in patients of any age, more common in young adults aged 15 to 40 years. In children, due to the shallow intracranial sulcus and tight adhesion between the skull and the meninges, there is less chance of damage to the meningeal arteries and meninges, and epidural hematoma is rare.
