Coracoid pectoralis minor syndrome

The coracoid process and the pectoralis minor muscle pass through the neurovascular bundle to the upper limb. Wright discovered in 1945 that normal people experience compression of neurovascular bundles when their upper limbs are excessively abducted. This is because the neurovascular bundles are tightened while being compressed by the pectoralis minor muscles. The compression site is where the subclavian artery transitions to the axillary artery. The mechanism of this compression can be demonstrated both on anatomical specimens and on the operating table.
