End-stage pneumonia in the elderly

End-senile pneumonia in the elderly refers to pneumonia caused by low immune function and decreased respiratory defense function caused by late or long-term bedridden of various diseases and extreme physical failure. Common diseases that cause end-stage pneumonia are: various cerebrovascular disease recovery periods, advanced malignant tumors, patients with severe diabetes, liver and kidney failure, brain trauma, patients receiving radiotherapy and chemotherapy, acquired immunodeficiency (AIDS), after major surgery, Organ transplant patients, as well as indwelling catheters and tracheal intubation. These patients are often referred to as immunocompromised hosts, and the incidence of co-infection is quite high, with lung infections being the most common and leading cause of death.
