A working conference on the progress of menopause research in the 1990s was held in Geneva on June 14, 1994, and it was proposed to discard menopause and recommend perimenopause and menopause transition. The provisions are as follows: ① Pre-menopausal period: refers to the period when the ovaries are active, including the period from adolescence to menopause. ② Menopausal: Menopausal refers to the last menstrual period in a woman's life. ③ Postmenopausal period: refers to the entire period from menopause to the end of life. ④ Menopausal transitional period (menopausal transitional period): refers to a period before menopause, that is, a period of transition from reproductive age to menopause, including from the clinical or blood menstrual hormone level of the earliest trend (menopausal Signs) until the last menstruation. ⑤ Perimenopausal period (peri-menopausal period): refers to the period before and after menopause, including signs of menopausal trend from clinical or blood hormone levels (that is, signs of ovarian function decline), which lasts until the last menstruation After 1 year. That is, menopause transition period plus 1 year after menopause.
