Pediatric bronchiectasis

Bronchiectasis is a chronic purulent disease in which the bronchus is damaged, deformed, and dilated due to repeated infections and obstruction of secretions or congenital developmental defects. Lesions are generally irreversible and progress slowly. About 50% of adult patients often have symptoms from childhood, mainly manifested as frequent fever, cough, sputum, and even hemoptysis. In recent years, due to the strengthening of prevention and treatment of respiratory infections and the timely application of antibiotics, the incidence has been reduced. Symptoms are also milder than in the past.
