Measles virus pneumonia

Measles virus pneumonia is the most common complication of measles, mostly in infants and children with low immunity, and it occurs in the early stages of the disease. When pneumonia is complicated, respiratory symptoms of children with measles are significantly worsened, often high fever persists, cough worsens, shortness of breath, wing flaps, and cyanosis. Wet and dry rales can be heard in the lungs. Mostly with the fever of measles, the rash subsided and pneumonia gradually dissipated. However, giant cell pneumonia occurs in malnourished and weak immune systems, and the disease often persists.
