Superior mesenteric artery thrombosis

Superior mesenteric arterial thrombosis occurs mostly in the elderly, and its formation gradually occurs on the basis of severe arteriosclerotic occlusion, so the onset is hidden. Because of the establishment of collateral circulation due to chronic chronic mesenteric artery ischemia, the clinical symptoms of acute ischemia are relatively mild. However, as the condition worsens, oliguria and metabolic acidosis can gradually occur. When symptoms and signs of peritoneal inflammation appear, patients often have intestinal necrosis and perforation.
