Tumors of mediastinal paraganglion origin
Tumors of paraganglial origin belong to APUD system tumors and are divided into two categories: biologically active tumors and non-biologically active tumors. Non-biologically active tumors are non-pheochromoparaganglioma (also called chemoreceptor tumors), and those with biological activity are pheochromocytomas, both of which can be malignant.
